Is That A Home Run Derby Or An Army Helmet?

31 years ago today I was dreading the whole exercise of strapping on my army helmet and heading down to Comiskey Park to blow up some disco records. I mean how many people would actually show up for something like that? Well, the answer is a LOT, and the rest is history. At least it’s a part of my history. It seems like another lifetime to me at this point, but luckily there’s the 25th Anniversary DVD to refresh both my memory and yours. If you are new to the Steve Dahl Show, you might want to check it out. I learned an awful lot about myself that night and even more 25 years later when we made the DVD.All in all, things have worked out pretty well for me since that night in 1979. I have all of you to thanks for that. I still have the amy helmet too. I would like to give it to the rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but The Chicago historical Society has expressed some interest. Maybe I'll just sell it on e-Bay, since I am on a fixed income after all. Coho!

Congrats Commander !  Given

Congrats Commander !  Given my screen name, I just had to offer the congrats on this sacred annual holiday.  I was there at the old Comiskey and "donated" (frisbi'ed out) a Donna Summers LP.  Did you get it and blow it up real good?  Have we started the official 6month countdown when you return to the airwaves on WGN?

      Can't believe it's been

Can't believe it's been 31 years already! I was there...no, REALLY!! Don't remember where my seat was (we were pretty drunk) but I did get down to the wall on the 3rd base line to shake your hand and get your autograph. That autograph and pieces of blowed up disco records were discarded by my ex-wife...that's WHY she's my ex-wife!! I showed up with my Insane Coho Lips t-shirt and a Saturday Night Fever record that I stole from my mother and witnessed an EPIC event. It was a true piece of history, not only in broadcasting but in sports as well, the magnitude of which has never been or never WILL be equaled. Screw that Stern character, YOU are, always have been, and always will be the King of All Media and I feel privileged to have been entertained by you all of these years. Thank you, Steve!!
