Do You Know The Way From San Jose?
I am packing up my podcasting gear and heading back to Chicago. I had a “delightful” time out here in San Jose and I am going home with two Blackhawks victories in my pocket. I could really get used to living out here in Northern California. It reminds be of the Sothern California of my youth. That was really like living in a Beach Boys song. It’s a lot different now, and I blame show business people from the East Coast. My friend Eric and I didn’t do too much sight seeing (other than Blackhawks players in the lobby), but the weather was a little funky so we passed the time hanging out at the hotel. The next time I’m out here I’m bringing my sticks (golf not hockey). I plan on being so good that I’m not afraid to take on Pebble Beach. In the meantime, I have golf school on Friday and Saturday, so I’ve got that going for me, which is helpful. I really don’t have a feel for where my game is at right now, but I’m sure I’ll have that by Saturday evening. It will be nice to be back home for a lot of reasons, but I am really having Pizza Pizzazz separation anxiety.

Hi Steve,
Your story on the Wednesday 5/20 Dahlcast about airport codes reminded me of something that happened to a colleague of mine some years back. We were in Silicon Valley for meetings, but he needed to go to Chicago for a different meeting. His travel office (in Europe) booked him from SJO to ORD, and he was surprised to find that they gave him a connection in Miami. OK, weird, but sometimes that happens, right?
Well, it turns out that SJO is San Jose, COSTA RICA. (He wanted SJC - San Jose, California). He didn't discover this until he got to SJC and they had no reservation for him.
Also, there are still nonstops between SJC and ORD, at least on American. United used to have that route but it looks like they don't any more.
Lovin' the Dahlcast... I listen every day on my Metra commute. If anyone asks me why I'm laughing out loud I give you a shout-out.
